Hell is the Place Between Words and the World. |
We don't publish fiction these days. It's a rule we have. A sensible one I think. For a small house to promote a novel is almost impossible without deep pockets. Which we don't have. So picture the consternation around the office when I mention in passing that I'm bringing in a pig to the stable... What can I say - Mystic Pig is quite simply one of the best books I've read. Period. So, 30th September 2008 we're publishing a world-renowned poet's debut novel. Go figure. You have to read it - it's simply astonishing. What's it about? Well... It's a novel about life and love, death and despair, acceptance, denial, murder, sex - and fine cuisine. Not necessarily in that order.
There's a blog about the whole slightly fated/surreal story here and here's the product page. I tell ya though - finding and bringing this to fruition is the most excitement and satisfaction I've had for a long while.
